Adam: How do you guys feel about being back in Pittsburgh?
Matt: I like it. I’d like to see more of it, we’re actually thinking about taking in the Andy Warhol Museum.

Adam: How was the first time you played in Pittsburgh, at the Garfield Artworks?
Matt: It was cool, like kind of some big art space.
Nicole: The sound was kind of weird because it was like a big art space. It wasn’t a proper club or anything.
Adam: What can you guys tell us about the new album?

Matt: Well, we have a record coming out this Spring. We started recording it last winter in a studio in upstate New York. We were there for about a week. It was really nice.
Nicole: It’s in the process of being mixed and mastered, so expect it out in March or April.
Adam: Nicole, you look a little jagged off.

Nicole: (laughs) Thank you, I’m really tired actually.
Adam: Has it been exhausting traveling so much for you guys?
Matt: You know, it is what it is. You’re constantly doing other things to support yourself while getting off the ground. In the end you do what you love and everything to support it.
Adam: I love Matt. He’s so genuinely honest. Is Matt the heart of the band?

Nicole: (laughs) Yeah he’s got a big heart.
Matt: My favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day.
Nicole: He loves Thanksgiving a lot more actually.
Matt: One day I’m probably going to be really fat.

Adam: So back to the new album, what else can you tell me about it?
Matt: It’s a lot different than Conductor. There’s some variety there. It’s kind of hard to describe.
Adam: How does the Nick fit in?
Matt: Nick’s a good friend of ours. We met him shortly after moving to New York. He played in a band with Andy. One thing about the new record is that it’s a big drum record.
Adam: Has Jason changed his bass style to complement Nick’s drumming?

Matt: Jason wasn’t on Conductor, so it’s great to have the original bass lines he wrote for the new album.
Adam: Nick, how did you come about playing drums for the Comas?
Nick: I started bar backing at this place in Brooklyn where Andy was the bartender. I worked every Wednesday with him and we just really got along. They went on tour and had a few shows that Cameron never showed up to. Then I got a call a few weeks later and Andy asked me if I wanted to play drums for the Comas. I really dug their music and I thought it was a good fit.

Adam: Andy, in your opinion how different is the new album from Conductor?
Andy: First of all, there were different people playing on Conductor other than Nicole and myself, which we recorded completely to tape. For the new one, we were going for a bigger record this time and it was more of a Pro Tools effort. So we went to a big studio to record it in upstate New York that was located on a mountain. It was really beautiful.
The new record has a much bigger sound. The songs are almost sprawling, it’s sonically huge and the songs are a lot more rock. There’s a lot more guitar involved too and Nicole sings a lot more on this album. This album was a very collaborative effort as opposed to Conductor, which was mainly my influence.

Adam: What’s the title of the new album?
Andy: It doesn’t really have a title yet. I guess the working title is “What are you going to be for Halloween?”
Adam: I did want to ask you about your instruments getting stolen on the last tour. Was that ever resolved?

Andy: Um well…honestly (laughs) they didn’t actually get stolen. Our van got towed. The city lost our van for about two weeks.
